EP REVIEW: Vader on top form with thunderous ep release

A GREAT offering from the Polish masters of Death Metal, Vader are on top form on ‘Iron Times’. This ep comprises of two new songs and two cover versions.

The opening track 'Parabellum' starts off with a thunderous drum intro that Thor himself would be proud of. By the time the guitars have started it has gripped you firmly by the throat and never lets go. I firmly believe when played live it will be a favourite for those of us who enjoy a good old-fashioned mosh pit.

Next up we have ' Prayer To The God Of War'. In my humble opinion, the prayer has been well and truly answered. The guitar riffs and solos on this song are immense. Marek Pająk deserves more recognition than he is getting at the moment. Coupled with Piotr Wiwczarek they take you on a rollercoaster ride that you don't want to end.

Thirdly we have ‘Piesc I Stal’. A Polish version of Steel Fist by Panzer X (a side project of Piotr Wiwczarek). Having listened to both versions, I can only come to one conclusion. Whether it's in English or Polish it's a great song. Well worth checking out.

Last but by no means least we have Vaders take on a Heavy Metal classic. Motorheads 'Overkill'. A fitting tribute to a true Titan of Metal. The late great Lemmy Kilmister. One thinks he and Philthy ‘Animal’ Taylor will be raising a glass in whatever afterlife he is residing in.

All in all what we have here is 13minutes 37 seconds of pure unadulterated unashamed Death Metal. Strongly recommend that you give this a little gem a listen. Keep up the good work Vader and I'll see you on the Dark Side.
